Tin, nickel prices surge on sustained demand

Tin, nickel lead and copper armiture prices surged further at the non-ferrous metal market here today following stockists' buying amidst sustained demand from industrial users.

Meanwhile, select copper, brass and zinc slipped owing to lower demand from consuming industries.

Tin and nickel rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,350 and Rs 800 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,345 and Rs 795, respectively.

Lead and copper armiture edged-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 165 and Rs 410.

However, copper sheet cutting fell by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 400 from Rs 404.

Copper scrap heavy declined by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 433 as against Rs 436 yesterday.
 

Brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 320 from Rs 322.

Copper cables scrap, copper billets and zinc softened by a Re per kg to Rs 444, Rs 472 and Rs 239, respectively.
