TN allocates funds for holding cultural programmes

Tamil Nadu government has allocated Rs one crore for holding cultural performances to promote fine arts and performing art forms of the state.

Every year one or two performance under international cultural exchange scheme and five to six inter-state cultural programmes would be conducted, an official release said.

A cultural programme, Markazhi Music Festival, state-level fine arts display, Natyanjali and culural events in tourist spots would also be organised to showcase art forms of all states, it said.

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has also allocated Rs one crore for constructing a house in the Museum premises at Egmore here to protect the items there and to showcase them.
 

The Chief Minister has also allocated Rs 20 lakh for constructing an Archaeological Park at the Prehistory Museum in Tiruvallur district, it said.
