With the arrest of four alleged gang members, police today claimed to have solved several cases of robbery, burglary and murder in various districts of Tamil Nadu.
Two of the members were arrested from this district and two from Tiruchirappalli with 102 sovereigns of gold being seized from them, they said.
The gang was operating in various districts, including Dindigul, Ramanathapuram, Tiruchirapalli and Karur.

A special team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Maheswari arrested Shajahan and Mohammed Tasleem when they were moving around Keezhakarai bus stand area here.
During questioning they confessed to robbing houses in daytime and named two accomplices Ismail and Saravanan of Tiruchirapalli, police said.
Their modus operandi was to target houses which remained locked and break in during daytime.
The SP said the gang befriended each other while they were in prison at Tiruchirapalli.
Ismail was the one who planned all the crimes and executed them with the help of his friends, he said.
Investigation revealed that Ismail had purchased lands in Erwadi area with the ill-gotten wealth, the SP said, adding that efforts were on to recover all the stolen items.
The four were later produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.
