TNEB field assistant arrested

A field assistant of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board was today arrested for allegedly taking bribe of Rs.4000 from a person for providing electric connection to his relative's house near here.

Officials said the man had demanded the bribe from Chinna Palani who is building a house at Mahibalanpatti for his son-in-law working abroad.

Vigilance and Anti-corruption Police set a trap and arrested him when he was receiving the bribe, officials said, adding, he has been remanded to judicial custody.
