Toddler dies in accidental fire in J-K

A three-year-old boy today died when a gun at his house in the Rajouri district went off accidentally, police said.

"A three-year-old child, identified as Omeshwar Singh, died of accidental fire in the Rajouri district today", a police official said.

He said that the gun belonged to child's relative who works as a member of the village defence committee (VDC) in his native village.

"We have registered a case and confiscated the weapon, we are also trying to ascertain the reason as to how the gun went off," the official said.
