Toddler dies in wall collapse

An 18-month-old girl died and seven members of her family were injured when the wall of an under-construction building collapsed on their house in Begumganj town in the district today, police said.

"A one-and-half-year old girl child died and seven others injured when the wall of the three-storey building which is under construction collapsed during the thunderstorm this morning. The wall fell on the house of Rajkumar Shilpkar living behind the building," Begumganj police station in-charge Alok Shrivastava said.

All the injured, belonging to the Shilpkar family, were rescued and admitted in a local hospital. Later, they were referred to Bhopal for further treatment, he added.
 

A case has been registered under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of IPC against the builders who are absconding.
