Press Trust of India New Delhi
India International Trade Fair (IITF) which opened for general public from today attracted over a lakh visitors.

"Increase in visitorship is due to reduction in price of tickets from Rs 120 to Rs 100 on weekends by ITPO, customer friendly initiatives such as availability of swipe machines and provision of e-wallets," Ministry of Commerce & Industry said in a statement.

State Bank of India and Axis Bank has provided 175 and 43 swipe machines respectively. Paytm and Free-Charge have provided 672 and 260 e-wallets, respectively. Easy access to these cashless transactions led to efficient business, it said.

Pragati Maidan not only offers business opportunities at trade fair but also cultural events and varieties of eateries of almost all states, which makes IITF a major attraction for the public. The cultural events by Korea, Manipur and Kerala added major attractions to the fair.

Adequate arrangements have also been made to meet out the enormous visitorship expected on Sunday.
