Traffic Police launches motorcycle squads to check violations

The motorcycles are fitted with wireless sets, loudspeakers, sirens and flasher lights for reining in violators of traffic signals and two wheeler riders without crash helmets among other visible offenses, DIG Traffic Jammu Shakeel Ahmed Beig said here.

These squads have been pressed into service with an aim of supplementing the traffic staff already deployed near traffic signals.

In the first phase, traffic signals of Janipura, High Court complex crossing, Bathandi crossing, Vivekanand Chowk, Bikram Chowk and Green Belt have been considered.
