Train hits tanker in UP

A major tragedy was averted as

Lucknow-Jaipur Express hit a tanker near Birhana in Raya area of the district.

No casualty was reported in the incident occurred on Wednesday night, NER PRO Izatngar Rajendra Singh said today.

The train coming from Lucknow hit the tanker when the vehicle's brake failed and it came near a rail track after breaking a boundary wall, the PRO said.

"Not only the boundary wall was further broken when the train engine hit the tanker but the cattle guard of the engine was also bent," the PRO said, referring the preliminary report submitted by Senior section Engineer, Mathura ASI and Traffic Inspector.
 

The train was halted for about half-an-hour.
