Treasury Offices in Assam to remain open tomorrow

The Assam Government has decided to keep all Treasury Offices in the state open as a normal working day tomorrow in view of presentation of a large number of bills and cheques by the DDOs towards the close of the current financial year.

All the district DCs and SDOs (Civil) have been directed by the Finance (Budget) Department to instruct all concerned accordingly, a government release said here today.

The DCs and SDOs have also been asked to ensure smooth functioning of the Treasuries during the day with Magistrates also deployed if deemed necessary.

The personal supervision and strict vigil by all the DCs and SDOs (Civil) have been sought till March 31, it said.
