Trial run on the Lohardaga-Tori rail link was conducted as part of the proposed Ranchi-Lohardaga-Tori rail project in Lohardaga district today.
The engine, which left Lohardaga at 11 AM, ran till Boda, railway officials said Senior Section Engineer and others were on board the engine.
The distance between Ranchi and Tori was about 113 km, while it was 69 km from Ranchi to Lohardaga covering 12 stations.
Following the implementation of the Ranchi-Tori rail link, travel timing between Delhi and Ranchi was expected to reduce by over five hours, the officials said.
