Tribal areas groan under intense cold wave in HP

The minimum and maximum temperatures rose by few notches as sky remained clear for most part of the day and strong velocity chilly winds abated, Met office sources said.

Una was hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 24.2 degrees Celsius, a rise of 2 degrees while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 22.5 degrees Celsius against 20 deg and 17 deg yesterday.

Solan in mid hills recoded a high of 21 degrees Celsius followed by Nahan 19 deg, Dharamsala 18.8 deg, Shimla 16 deg and Kalpa 11.4 deg C.

The minimum temperatures also increased by 2 to 3 deg with Shimla, Bhuntar and Una recording a low of 8 deg C while Palampur was hottest at night with minimum temperature at 9 deg followed by Nahan and Dharamsala 8.4 deg, Sundernagar 7.3 deg, Solan 5.5 deg and Mandi 3.6 deg C.

 

The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region during the next three days.
