A day ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls in West Bengal, the Congress today wrote to the Election Commission of India alleging that the ruling Trinamool Congress was threatening its MLAs.
"I would like to inform you that the ruling Trinamool Congress party, violating the Election Code of Conduct, is threatening Congress MLAs and kidnapped some Congress MLAs," WBPCC President Pradip Bhattacharya said in a letter to the election commissioner.
"It is a serious violation of election norms. I would therefore request you to kindly take appropriate actions so that our party MLAs are not disturbed," he said.
Congress has 38 seats in the 294-member assembly.
