BJP leader Trivendra Singh Rawat was among four candidates who filed their nomination papers today for the Doiwala assembly seat where a bypoll is slated for July 21.
Rawat was accompanied by by Pradesh BJP president Tirath Singh Rawat and former chief minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank as he filed his nomination for the seat before Returning Officer P C Dumka.
Trivendra is pitted against Hira Singh Bisht of the Congress on the seat where bypoll was necessitated after Nishank who represented it in the state assembly was elected to the Lok Sabha recently from Haridwar.

The other three who filed their nominations from the seat are all independents including Sadiq Ali, Rishi Kumar and William Akbar.
Bypoll to Doiwala seat will be held on July 21 along with Someshwar and Dharchula from where Chief Minister Harish Rawat is contesting to make it to the state assembly within six months of being sworn in as chief minister on February 1.
