Unsavoury incidents took place in the Mahabubnagar district Zilla Parishad meeting here today, after ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MLAs and the main opposition Congress MLAs got into a scuffle, it was officially announced.
According to a Congress release, an altercation occurred between TRS MLA Balaraju and Congress MLA Rammohan Reddy as well as their supporters over speaking on development-related issues.
Alleging that Congress MLAs were manhandled at the Zilla Parishad meeting, Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy called for a shut down in Mahabubnagar district tomorrow, the Congress release said.
Condemning the "physical attack" on the Congress and Telugu Desam Party Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) members, TDP floor leader in the Telangana Legislative Assembly Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the TDP "would not be cowed down by such cheap tactics", a party release said.
