Tunda remanded in police custody

A local court today remanded LeT bomb expert Abdul Karim alias Tunda in one-day police custody in connection with a blast in Haryana.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Hemraj Verma remanded Tunda in Haryana Police custody. The terror mastermind is on transit remand and will be produced before the court tomorrow.

According to a police spokesman, on December 28, 1996 a blast took place at a cinema hall in Sonipat in which several persons were left injured.

Tunda was named as the main accused in the case, he said.

He was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police from the Indo-Nepal border on August 16.
