Akali Dal (Badal) activists held a demonstration here today against the incident at Rome airport, in which Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee chief Manjit Singh was allegedly asked to remove his turban during frisking.
Around 100 protestors tried to march towards the Italian Embassy here but they were stopped at Chanakyapuri police station.
The protesters handed over a memorandum to the officials of Italian Embassy at the police station itself and dispersed.
DSGMC president Manjit Singh was asked to remove his turban during a security check at Rome airport on the intervening night of Augut 6 and 7.
According to reports, Manjeet Singh, who refused to remove the turban, was on way to Dubai from Rome.
