Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today amid fall in supplies from producing belts against fresh buying by retailers and stockists.
Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.
Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 6,500-11,100 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded higher by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 10,300-10,600 and Rs 13,800-14,000 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts pushed up turmeric and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 690-840, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,340-1,370 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,440-1,540.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 710-760, cardamom (colour robin) 690-750, cardamom bold 740-760, cardamom extra (bold) 910-960 and cloves 820-870.
