TV rights of David Bowie documentary sold

The television rights of the documentary made on the life of legendary singer-actor David Bowie have been sold officially.

HBO has acquired permission to air the film titled, "David Bowie: The Last Five Years" on American TV, reported Variety.

Francis Whately has both directed and produced the film, which is based on Bowie's last two albums and Broadway musical, offering new insights into the final five years of his life.

The doc, which will be aired this summer, will include "Ziggy Stardust" singer's rarely-seen interviews, archival footage, audio from the recording sessions for albums like 'The Next Day' and 'Blackstar'.
 

Recently, Bowie posthumously won five Grammys for his final album 'Blackstar'.
