Two arrested for series of chain snatching

Two persons were arrested today on charges of indulging in series of chain snatching in three different localities in the city on a single day yesterday.

A three-member gang, on motor cycle, had snatched gold chains from three women, weighing 17 sovereigns, in a span of six hours, in Ganapaathy Maanagar, Cheran Maanagar and Saibaba Colony, police said.

Police, on suspicion, arrested Ismail from UKkadam and Sardar from Kurichi and remanded to custody, while search was on for their accomplice, they said.
