Two arrested with fake currency worth Rs three lakh

The CBI has arrested two persons carrying fake currency having face value of Rs three lakh allegedly being pumped into the country from Indo-Bangla border.

One Mohammed Kashi and his woman accomplice Shalu, both residents of Ramnagar in Western Uttar Pradesh, were nabbed by the CBI team from New Delhi-Farakka express with the fake currency worth Rs three lakh, a CBI spokesperson said here today.

"The seized FICN were in the denomination of Rs 1000. A case was registered U/s 120-B r/w Section 489-B, 489-C of IPC on the allegations of trafficking FICN from Malda area (West Bengal) to Uttar Pradesh," the spokesperson said.
