Two arrested with herb worth Rs 4 lakh

Two persons were arrested and 600 grams of a precious herb was seized from their possesion in Karnaprayag here.

The duo from Ghat block of Chamoli district were arrested with 600 grams of Keedajadi worth Rs 4 lakh yesterday when they were found moving suspiciously around a bridge between Pokhri and Karnaprayag , police said.

They had illegally collected the herb from the Himalayan grasslands and were preparing to sell it, they said.

Keedajadi is a precious herb that grows in the Himalayan region and is much in demand in the international market for manufacturing aphrodisiacs.
