Two police constables have been arrested after an undertrial escaped from their custody while he was being brought back to Hardoi jail from court.
Akash Sharma and Anand Sharma were arrested yesterday and a case of negligence has been registered against them. Shahrukh, who was brought to the court on Wednesday for a hearing by the constables managed to flee while being escorted to the Hardoi Jail, Station House Officer Chanderkiran Yadav said.
Shahrukh was arrested in connection with a murder case in April last year, the SHO added.
Police said a case has been registered against the undertrial and efforts were on to nab him.
