Two-day convention of accountants from January 30 in Delhi

The 57th National Convention of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) will be held in the National capital from January 30.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be the chief guest at the two day convention on the theme "Building Cost Competitivenes-Mission Make in India," Chairpersons of local chapter of ICAI Meena Ramji told reporters here today.

The convention will seek to address the challenges in building cost competitiveness and explore the contributions that CMA (Cost and Management Accountant) can make to foster the Indian economy by playing a catalytic role in accomplishyment of the mission "make in India," she said.
 

Stating that one plenary session and six technical sessions were focused on the objective of Make in India, Meena said that the institute has taken initiatives to bring in sectors like health care, MSME, GST, Social sectors and local bodies into this fold.

The institute was trying to help identify the true cost of service in health care which will make the treatments affordahle for the poor and the needy as well as make health care affordable to all, she said.

About 1,000 members from across the country are expected to participate in the convention, which would showcase the role of CMAs in bringing in cost competitiveness in various sectors, Meena said.
