Andhra Pradesh police today suspended two deputy superintendents of police in Krishna and Anantapur districts and initiated a severe disciplinary action against them.
Y Srinivasa Rao, formerly DSP of Avanigadda in Krishna district, has been placed under suspension on the charge of connivance with anti-social elements and intentionally involving his own subordinate staff, and allowing the organisation of social evils in his jurisdiction.
Apart from it, Rao allegedly failed to arrest the accused in an sexual assault case of a minor girl and also failed to control law and order in his area, an official release said.
Another DSP A Hanumanthu, (Police Training College Anantapur) has been placed under suspension on the charge of extorting amounts from the contractors executing government work in PTC Anantapur, harassing the subordinate staff, claiming false HRA, misusing government vehicle for private purposes, the release added.
