Two alleged drug peddlers were today arrested after police found them in possession of about two kilograms of narcotics in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
Showkat Ahmad Paddar of Hangir and Jahangir Ahmad Dhobi of Budroo were arrested during separate operations near Behibagh and Demidalla villages, a police spokesman said.
He said while two kilograms of poppy straw was seized from the possession of Paddar, police recovered 12 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from Dhobi.
The duo were booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the spokesman said.
