Two feared drowned

drowned after slipping into the Puthimari river in Kamrup Rural district of lower Assam today.

Police said the two, Krishna Sarma (60) and his nephew Suman Sarma (12), had gone to bathe in the river during a religious ceremony when they slipped into the water at Kusungpur village.

A search operation has been launched but both remain untraced.
