Two school girls allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a tree after they were scolded by their guardians and hostel superintendent for using mobile phones in school premises secretly, police officials said here today.

The bodies of two 16-year old girls - Sima Debbarma and Bina Debbarma -- were found hanging in a tree at Takarjala of Sipahijala district last night.

"The girls were the students of Takarjala Higher Secondary School in Sipahijala district. They secretly used mobile phones which is prohibited in the school. Besides the hostel superintendent, the guardians of the girls also scolded them for that. It might be the reason for their committing suicide," IG (police control) Nepal Das said.
