Police today arrested two betting organisers for allegedly accepting bets for the World Cup match played between Zimbabwe and the UAE.
Sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force (North Zone) Team apprehended Mohd Sayeed, a gym instructor and Shanawaz Khan, a plumber, from a rented house in West Marredpally here while they were accepting bets directly and also over phone from the punters for the cricket match, said Task Force DCP B Limba Reddy.
Police seized a television set, two mobile phones and Rs 30,000 besides other items from the duo.
According to police, Sayeed and Khan were facing financial problems and hatched a plan to earn easy money by accepting bets.
