Two persons were arrested for allegedly possessing drugs worth Rs 2.33 lakh by the sleuths of the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC), police said today.
"Acting on a tip-off, ANC officials of Navi Mumbai police laid a trap in Taloja area in the wee hours of February 3 and apprehended Mohammad Shabbir Mohammad Yakub Shaikh (35) and Soyeb Hanif Khan (30), both residents of Mumbra", an official release said.
"60 grams of Methamphetamine and 100 grams of hashish, worth Rs 2.33 lakh was seized from their possession," it added.
A case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 was registered against the duo, police said, adding a probe was on.
