Two held for smuggling cannabis

Two persons were arrested after 33 kg of cannabis was seized from their possession here, police said today.

The drug, worth Rs one lakh, was allegedly smuggled from Manipur. Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials seized the cannabis and arrested the duo, they said.

Aizawl resident Niangzadim (50) and Thanglamchin (27) of Manipur were arrested and booked under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, police said, adding investigation is underway.
