Two persons, including a woman, were injured and hospitalised after an elephant attacked them today in a village near Mettupalayam, about 50 km from here, police said.
The two were trampled by the pachyderm as it ran for safety after villagers of Chittankode chased it back to the jungles early this morning when it entered the hamlet in search of food, they said.
Both are being treated in the Government hospital here.
