Two persons were killed and about six others sustained minor injuries today as the bus they were travelling in met with an accident in Ramnagar area of Nainital district.
The accident occurred near Choi village on Ramnagar-Haldwani motor road when the private bus which shuttles between Ramnagar and Haldwani overturned as it tried avoiding hitting a motorcycle coming at the wrong side from the opposite direction, an official at Ramnagar police station said.
Two persons were riding on the bike. With construction work underway on the road it has become very narrow and the driver lost control, he said.
Two bus passengers died on the spot and six others were left with minor injuries, he said.
