Two killed as truck ploughs thru procession

Two persons were killed and 17 others injured when a truck ploughed through a religious procession at Jamtala in South 24 Parganas district today.

The brick laden truck ploughed through a 'Kirtan' party killing one woman on the spot and injuring 18 others. Later an elderly woman died in hospital.

Of the 17 injured, who were all hospitalised, condition of six was critical, police said.
