Two liquor vends sealed

Two liquor vends were sealed here for violating the "dry day" orders on Gandhi Jayanti, police said today.

Acting on a tip off, SDM (Pataudi) Virender Chaudhary along with other officials raided both the liquor vends located in Hailey Mandi last night and found that liquor was being sold illegally despite a ban, an official release said.

The SDM called the Excise department officials and got both the liquor vends sealed and legal action was being initiated against them.

Later, the in-charge of police post of that area was transferred to police lines by the orders of Police Commissioner Alok Mittal for his failure to get the orders implemented properly.
