Two policemen were today injured from falling concrete chunks after a rifle they were cleaning accidentally discharged and a bullet hit the roof, police said.
Police officials said that the incident took place at 7am today when constables Purshottam Yerme and Shankar Chaudhary were engaged in routine cleaning and inspection of firearms at the police headquarters.
"One of the rifles accidentally went off and the bullet hit the roof, dislodging concrete which fell on their heads. Both had minor injuries," an official explained.
An investigation is underway into the incident, the official added.
