Two men detained with foreign currency

City police today detained two persons after recovering 30,500 Saudi riyals (around Rs 4.4 lakh) from them during a vehicle checking at MJ Market here.

M Chari and Saifuddin, the two men, claimed they were employees of a local foreign exchange company and the cash belonged to the company.

But they were unable to produce documents to substantiate their claim, police said. Further probe is on.
