Two children died after allegedly falling into a septic tank in Malthua Shah Jot village under Kotwali Dehat police station here, police said today.
The incident took place last evening when Shubham (2) and Anuj (4) fell into a septic tank while peeping inside to look for a ball, they said.
The locals tried to rescue the children but their attempts went in vain, police said, adding that the boys had died by the time they were brought out of the tank.
Last rites of the children were performed by their family last night, police added.
