Two most wanted Maoists held in Koraput

Odisha Police today arrested two wanted Maoists during a combing operation in Koraput district.

The arrested Maoists have been identified as Nabin Praska and Sana Wateka. Police said they were tipped-off about the movement of the duo near Dumbaguda area under Narayanpatna police limits and accordingly an operation was planned.

"While Nabin is involved in 10 murders, Sana has killed five people. Besides the arrested duo are involved in several Maoist offensives including extortion, blocking roads and felling trees," said SP (Koraput) Awinash Kumar.

According to police the duo had joined the Maoist organization four years back and was working for the Koraput Srikakulam divisional committee of the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee.
