As a step to deliver faster services during emergency situations, the Fire and Rescue Services Department is planning to set up two new fire stations at Pudukottai and Nagapattinam district.
These two new fire stations will come up in Keeramangalam and Thirumarugal and locations have already been identified, officials said.
Once the units come up, the number of fire stations in the Central region would go up to 90.
