Two new police stations - Lokpur and Chandrapur - were today formally inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from a programme held in West Midnapore through remote control.
West Bengal Minister of State for Education Ashish Banerjee and Fisheries Minister Chandranath Sinha physically opened the doors of the two new police stations.
With these two new police stations the total number of police stations in Birbhum district rose to 21.
Birbhum Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Bikash Roychowdhury, DIG Burdwan Range Ajay Nanda, Superintendent of Police of Birbhum Alok Rajoria and Additional District Magistrate of Birbhum Bidhan Chandra Roy were present in the programme.
