Two persons, including a farmer, shot dead

Two persons, including a farmer, were shot dead today by unidentified persons at Gobrahi diara in Bihar's Katihar district, a police officer said.

Farmer Mithilesh alias Mithu Mandal (45) and Pappu Mahto (23) were shot by unidentified persons while they were sleeping in a make-shift hut on an embankment, Kursela police station in-charge Vinod Kumar Singh said.

The two were found dead by local people, he said, adding the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Police suspect that the twin murder was a fall out of personal enmity and land dispute between Mandal and others in the riverine area.

A probe was on in the matter, the police officer added.
