Two prisoners escape from police custody

Two prisoners escaped from police custody when they were returning back in a van after a court hearing.

The prisoners -- Raj and Hasin -- from Dasna jail were presented before a magistrate here. While returning in the vehicle, the duo gave police a slip, police said today.

Raj, a resident of Usmanpur in Delhi, was arrested on April 1 at Ghaziabad. Hasin, a resident of Bulandsahar, was arrested on May 5.

A case has been registered against erring police personnel and efforts are on to trace the absconding prisoners.
