Two workers die after cinema hall roof collapses

Two workers died here today after being crushed under debris when a part of the roof of an old cinema hall collapsed on them, fire brigade officers said.

The mishap occurred when a part of the defunct cinema hall was being demolished.

"A part of the hall's roof caved in on two workers who were engaged in the demolition work of the side wall," fire brigade officer Ramesh Majhi said.

While one worker died on the spot, the other was pulled out of the debris in a serious condition and was rushed to the Capital Hospital. However, he too succumbed to his injuries.
