Two workers fall in STP, dead

Two persons died allegedly while working at a sewage treatment plant at sector 54 here, police said today.

Mukund and Betwa were working at the STP last night when they fell into the oxidation pond, a police official said.

Before they could be pulled out, they were dead, sector 24 SHO V P Singh said.

The contractor has extended a financial compensation of Rs 10 lakh for their families.

Prima facie it appears an accident, the SHO said, adding probe is underway.
