Two youths drown in Damodar river

Two youths drowned today when they went to take bath in the Damodar river at Khandaghosh in Burdwan district.

The police said Subhodip Roy (18) and Buddhadeb Saha (20) drowned when Roy, who suffered from epilepsy, drowned in the river and Saha went to rescue him.

The duo hailing from Kamalpur village in Khandaghosh police station used to work as labourers in the sand quarry in the river.

The bodies were fished out of the river by locals and sent to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
