Two youths from Rajasthan were killed and three others seriously injured when a speeding car ploughed into them at a roadside teastall in Shalimar Garden area of northwest Delhi today.

The deceased were identified as Satish and Sikender while Ravi, Satyender and Mahesh were seriously injured in the accident. They were all aged between 19 and 22 years.

Police said the driver of speeding car identified as Ankit (26), a resident of Dwarka area and son of a businessman, was also injured in the incident and admitted to a hospital.

All the victims are residents of Nibas area of Rajasthan and they came to Delhi yesterday to appear in an examination being held at a CRPF camp in Bawana area, but it was postponed due to some reason.

"As their exam was put off, all the five youths took an auto to go to ISBT to board a Rajasthan-bound bus. On the way, they stopped at a road-side tea stall on Karnal bypass in front of Badali bus shelter at around 5.30 AM," said a senior police official.

When they were having tea, the speeding car rammed into the auto parked outside stall, hitting Satish, Ravi, Satyender, Sikender and Mahesh, he said. The impact of the collision was such that auto was totally damaged.

"After the incident, all the victims were immediately rushed to Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini Sector 3 where Satish and Sikender were declared dead on arrival," the official said.

The condition of Ravi, Mahesh and Satyender is said to be critical.

Police said that they were probing if Ankit was inebriated at the time of the incident.

"Police have informed the victims' families about the incident and are awaiting their arrival. Further investigation is on," officer added.
