UA plane called back to deport 2 persons to US

A US-bound United Airlines' flight from the IGI Airport here was forced to abort take-off and return to the boarding area on Saturday by the immigration authorities to take back two persons who were not allowed to enter India.

The last-minute recall of the plane, which had started taxiing for take-off, delayed the flight by 46 minutes.

A senior Civil Aviation Ministry officials said that it has been apprised of the incident and was awaiting a report on the issue.

The two persons, whose identities have not been disclosed, were forced to return to the US after their arrival in India when the immigration authorities found that their entry in the country was "barred", sources said.
 

When contacted, United Airlines' confirmed that the flight had to be returned to the gates following instructions from the immigration officials.

"Flight UA83 on June 13, 2015 returned to the gates briefly to enable the embarkation of two customers after United was informed by the Indian immigration authorities that they had been denied entry into India and would have to be returned to the US," the airline said in a statement.

"The flight departed at 12:21 am local time, 46 minutes behind schedule," it said.
