UALA militant killed in encounter

A United Achik Liberation Army (UALA) militant was killed in an encounter with a joint police and army team in lower Assam's Goalpara district today, police said.

The UALA extremist exchanged fire with the security forces at Khardung under Krishnai police station along the Assam-Meghalaya border, they said.

The body of the slain ultra has been sent for post mortem, they added.
