Workers of opposition Congress-led UDF today picketed the state secretariat here as part of the state-wide stir against the 'anti-people' policies of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and CPI(M)-headed LDF regime in Kerala.
Inaugurating the picketing, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Ramesh Chennithala attacked the NDA government, saying the 'crisis' caused by demonetisation was still continuing. The economic situation had come to a stage where none were coming forward to invest in the country, he added.
"The rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become one of the darkest chapters in the country," he alleged.

Chennithala said that the seven-month-old LDF government headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had only brought 'suffering' to people of the state.
He alleged that the government had failed to resolve the problems related to distribution of food articles through ration shops.
"During the previous UDF rule, ration was not disrupted even for a week. Now there is no ration, no pension and the administration has come to a virtual standstill due to non cooperation of a section of IAS officers," he said.
Karnataka Power Minister D K Shivakumar and IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty were among those who participated at the stir in front of the secretariat.
UDF workers picketed District Collectorates across the state as part of the agitation.
Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the stir in Kochi and KPCC President V M Sudheeran at Alappuzha.
